whats 2018 waiting for from you....
so, while youre organizing & decluttering & reading blogs, or while you were waiting for me to do something spectacular, i went and did something spectacular.
i put an actual list of resolutions together that are actually attainable. and i will post at the end of 2018 with stats of pass/fail.
1 - no more babysitting/taking care of inebriated yet capable adults: i miss a lot of fun things worrying about others at festivals, parties and nights out. i dont want to worry or miss anything anymore.
2 - reduce my use of plastic: my company has logo-ed water bottles. they are for clients, etc but i go through them daily. and i dont even drink the whole thing. like ever. its just another bottle that goes straight to recycling. if im lucky. some days it goes in the trash for convenience purposes. but i have a cup. its a star wars cup. and its lovely and its mine and its holds water just fine & dandy, thank you.
3 - put into effect the wonderful konmari method i discovered last year - although i am overwhelmed by my clothes & shoes, and i keep up pretty well with my books, there a million categories to attack. the stuff has overtaken me and i need a new start and some space. and if i cant use some of my current belongings, maybe someone else can
4 - this one is horrible, actually... i donate money. a lot. and im in serious debt. but i keep donating. and its a nice thing to do but i will go through $100s per month for animals, the elderly, the sick, the kids, the hurricanes, the homeless, the veterans, the everything. so im donating less this year. ill have a monthly amount to stick to.
5 - my sister & i started one of those 7-day challenges on 1/1/18. nothing major, but she then found a 2nd one. and january is to drink more water. im lucky to get water down for the week let alone every day. and i know i said earlier i go through a lot of water bottles but i dont go through a lot of actual water. so as of today, ive had a bottle of water per day every day this year!! (yay, january 3rd!)
6 - i have a free gym at my office. i have a free workout class schedule with trainers at my office. i dont use this stuff. # 6 - use stuff.
7 - ive got scrapbook stuff everywhere. EVERYWHERE! i started buying it in 2001. and its everywhere. and im still finishing the book we started for my mom in 2007. we are celebrating its decade anniversary of not being done yet. thats ridiculous. so in accordance with # 6 - use stuff. finish the book. whatever is left can be donated. we even found a Navy group who's female members requested scrapbook items. sounds like a perfect place for it.
8 - monthly events - im pretty good at planning stuff but if you dont give people a schedule, its seriously like herding cats. so ive picked 3 groups and decided to plan 1 event / month. if they know its coming, they are more likely to be available.
and that, as they say, is that.
